Why do you make things? I make things because it brings me joy.

Why did you choose the medium you work with? I actually don’t like fabric flowers as bouquets. I prefer the real deal. But I loved the idea of wearing flowers in my hair, and the real deal just isn’t really possible to wear solidly. So I started creating the hairpieces. I was inspired from a couple of my circus ladies.

If you were forced into a “plan B” what would that look like? I would pack up my husband and cat and move back to the remote countryside of SE Alaska or rural Washington. I would make things with whatever I was inspired by. Train on the trapeze. Grow veggies in the spring and summer. In the Fall I would can and pickle all of crops and get ready to hunker down for the Winter. We would spend our social time getting involved in the local arts community.
