Tet A L'aire Tet A L'aire

What appeals to you most about making what you make? I love making art.  It’s the way that I communicate best, and honestly, I am in love with the entire process, from painting to promoting, selling, meeting new people and hanging out with other artists.  This is what I have always wanted to do and I often feel as though I am living in a dream.

This is how I tell stories, and especially, the Deep End series and the adventures of the Muse are the stories that I am aching to tell every day.  In many ways, I see myself as creating a world or creating a set of fables.  The adventures of the Muse, the adventures of a young girl as she travels through a fantastical, crazy, world that comes out of my imagination and by extension hers is not unlike the classic epic stories of the past–except that they are twisted by the mind of someone who has lived in this age and experienced the insanities that we all carry with us! This and a healthy respect for graffiti, old cartoons, Marvel Comics, Mad Magazines and self expression are what give this work it’s own voice ans sense of originality.  Ultimately I am creating my own massive theme park or cartoon mythos not unlike the worlds that exist in old Fleischer films.  With every painting this world keeps getting bigger and new fills with new lands, characters and ideas.  It really is just loads of fun and much different than the performance art and conceptual work that I also do!
