Twozdai Hulse
"Seattle No. 45", photo transfer on canvas
Twozdai grew up all around the greater Puget Sound and has been living in Seattle for ten years. She studied at the Northwest College of Art where she split her major between painting and photography while minoring in graphic design. She currently works as a freelance graphic designer. Yes, that is her real name — it sounds like “Tuesday.”
The skyline series, are architectural & nature based photographic transfers overlaid with original paintings. Works include scenes from Mexico, Barcelona, San Francisco, and Seattle.
The photographs go through a photo transfer process which lends them a moody texture. Twozdai then adds hand-painted details to the images to highlight the unique features of the images. The pieces are a perfect example of Twozdai’s best skills — photography and painting.
