Botanical Architecture
How do you prepare for creating something? When I am planning a new painting I spread out all of my bone and insect specimen, anatomy and botanical books and various computer circuit boards. I look for forms which compare and contrast visually then make drawings and color studies tailored to the size of canvas I am working with. I usually plan out 3 to 6 paintings at a time.
Where are you from? I am from Medford, OR. My father moved there to take a job as an ultrasound sonagrapher. He is a major reason that I am so fascinated with anatomy. I used to visit him working in the hospital and pour over his anatomy books.
