What appeals to you most about making what you make? Why do you make things? I love monsters, robots, birds, animals, and a host of other things! I love the process of painting – sketching the initial ideas, the way the brush feels on the stretched canvas and seeing the finished product at the end. Its fun.

How do you prepare for creating something?/ What steps do you take before actually making a piece? I do a lot of sketching, so often I will scour my sketchbook for a doodle that I feel like painting. Then I’ll pick out a canvas to work on and start sketching on the canvas. If I need reference material for what I’m drawing I’ll look in books or do a Google images search.

What is the first thing you ever made? Assuming that soiling my diaper as an infant does not count, I remember making entire books about monsters as a kid. The books consisted of a bunch of scrap paper stapled together with each page sporting a monster, what weapons it preferred, its name, size and so on.

If you were capable of time travel where would you go? Why? I would really like to see some dinosaurs. I’d like to see what colors they really are.
