Flight Pattern
What appeals to you most about making what you make? At the moment, my favorite thing about making art is the process of taking messy things and things that don’t make sense, and organizing them. It feels magical and scientific.
What artists inspire you? How else do you find inspiration? Too many amazing artists too list…Matt Leines, Maria Forde, J.Otto Seibold, Chris Koperski, Michelle Blade, Alison Kendall, Laurel Sparks, Thomas Campbell…
I’m also inspired the landscape of the San Francisco bay area and Northern California- the ocean, the bay, the birds on Lake Merritt, the mural at the MacArthur BART station, the street art, Golden Gate Park, the redwoods and the Russian River. Also, I stare at the sky a lot and I see these patterns exploding across the blue, from tree branches and from rooftops and from the clouds. Probably means there’s something wrong with my eyes, but it’s still pretty inspiring.
