Why did you choose the medium you work with? I like to make durable surfaces using discarded metal and fabric, resin and beeswax. My thrift and creativity stem from childhood experiences: I spent several years on a remote homestead in rural eastern Washington, and several more living itinerantly across the country. My family gleaned abandoned household items on evening alley walks, bought clothes at Salvation Army, and slept under the stars in campgrounds and fields. I developed a keen respect for nature and a vivid curiosity about the things people leave behind.
