How do you prepare for creating something? I prepare for making a piece by going to thrift stores and looking at old electronics and gadgets.  I look for things that I can visualize soft. When I create something I don’t have a pattern I just measure, cut and sew and make adjustments until I am satisfied.  I model most of my sculptures after things I have and pictures from the Internet.  I really am not a planner, when I am in the right mindset I just go for it.

What appeals to you most about making what you make? I enjoy making soft sculpture, because it is a soft and comfy medium.  I make things as a way to relax and to feel a sense of accomplish by making something tangible.

What artists inspire you? How else do you find inspiration? Several artists have inspired me, Claes Oldenburg, Liza Lou.  I also find inspiration in the movie the Science of Sleep.
