What appeals to you most about making what you make? I love the challenge of “here’s a material, see what you can do with it” or “I’m going to a pirate party for a 2-year old. Can you make something?”

How do you prepare for creating something?/What steps do you take before actually making a piece? It all starts with a sketch. Then I clear my work area and start grabbing what I think I’ll need. There’s always a prototype followed by tweaks to make it just what I want.

Where did you study? Why? Marshall University, it’s where I first learned to weave. I took two semesters of weaving while I was in the College of Business. Everyone thought I was crazy (business students didn’t take art classes and art students didn’t take business classes).

Have you ever forgotten that you made something? Maybe it’s a sign of age, or that I’ve made a lot of stuff, but I have forgotten for sure! I created a blog purely for the sake of logging my crafts and HOW I’ve made them.
